The Implementer-Led Design, Evidence, Analysis and Learning (IDEAL) is excited to release this Request for Applications (RFA) for Applied Research Award (ARA) under IDEAL’s Small Grants Program to improve the design, implementation, and effectiveness of emergency and development food and nutrition security activities, and overall effectiveness of programming by USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) implementing partners.

The Applied Research Award is a response to feedback from implementers of BHA activities indicating the need for practical, program-oriented research to improve activity quality.Implementing partners have asked for more user-friendly research from academia, and clearer evidence on how they can apply research findings to their programs.

The IDEAL activity, funded by the USAID Office of Food for Peace (FFP), works to support the United States Government’s goal of improving food and nutrition security among the world’s most vulnerable households and communities. IDEAL consists of a consortium of four partner organizations (Save the Children, the Kaizen Company, Mercy Corps, and TANGO International).

This Request for Applications (RFA) invites research applications that examine food and nutrition security activities and directly address the following Strategic Integration sub-themes:

Grant Information

IDEAL will award up to five ARAs, each with a maximum value of $300,000 US dollars and a period of up to 24 months.
