Deadline: 15-Oct-2025
The Art Omi Writers Program hosts authors and translators for two weeks to one month throughout the spring and fall.
The program’s strong international emphasis provides exposure for global literary voices and reflects the spirit of cultural exchange that is essential to Art Omi’s mission. The residency offers writers the chance to dedicate uninterrupted time to their craft while benefiting from the collaborative environment that Art Omi is known for. Participants are encouraged to outline a clear project plan for their stay to make the most of the opportunity.
Applicants must submit four items: a detailed cover letter (including personal details, residency dates, how they heard of Art Omi: Writers, reasons for applying, and expectations), a two-page statement or CV outlining work history and credits, a writing sample of up to 25 pages (in the original language or with an English translation if available), and a one-page project description. The cover letter goes in the designated field, while the other three items must be uploaded separately. Alumni may reapply after five years.
Late applications will not be accepted, and decision notifications will be released in January 2026. The spring residency will take place from Thursday, March 26 to Tuesday, May 24, 2026, and will be divided into Spring Sessions One and Two, with exact dates to be determined. Applications for the 2026 residency are due electronically by October 15, 2025 (11:59 PM EST), with notifications in January 2026.
