Entries are now open for 2020 just IMAGINE if… Competition which is an annual international social enterprise and innovation competition, hosted by Durham University and Ella’s Kitchen founder, Paul Lindley.
The competition is open to anyone across the global who has a business idea which tackles at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. just IMAGINE if… exists to drive social, economic and environmental change in the world by helping little ideas become big impact realities.
Ten shortlisted finalists will present their business idea in front of a panel of expert business leaders at the March 2020 final in Durham.
Prizes
- Each finalist will receive mentoring from a leading businessperson and professional pitch training from One Young World to perfect their presentation ahead of the event, and will attend a bespoke course at Durham Business School.
- The winner will receive bespoke research support worth over £75,000 from Durham University, plus invaluable bespoke support from key business partners.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the date of entry.
- All applicants must be able to access the internet and have a valid email account for the duration of the competition. If selected as a finalist, the applicant must be able to present their idea in person at the just IMAGIINE if… event on 30th March 2020, at Durham University, Durham, UK.
- Applicants can be individuals, groups, companies, partnerships or not-for-profit organisations. There is no limit to a group size, but any pitching at the just IMAGINE if… event is limited to 1 person.
- Where an applicant is a company, partnership or not-for-profit organisation, the term “applicant” as used in these terms and conditions shall extend to their directors, shareholders, members, partners and employees.
- Applicants will be expected to cover their own travel costs to the just IMAGINE if…event on 30th March 2020. Applicant’s ideas should not have received development funding totalling greater than £100,000.
- Applicants must not be:
- employees of Durham University or its subsidiary companies who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration;
- employees of agents or suppliers of Durham University or its subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
- members of the immediate families or households of the employees.
