Foundation Beyond Belief

The Foundation Beyond Belief is a humanist charity that promotes secular volunteering and responsible charitable giving. Its mission is to unite the humanist community in volunteering and charitable efforts and advocating for compassionate action throughout the world.

After the Hurricane Matthew, the foundation felt the need of relief for the people in Haiti. Therefore the foundation has launched a Humanist Disaster Recovery Drive to aid the people affected by Hurricane Matthew, and will be directing funds where they are needed the most after the storm dissipates.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced two emergency response grants totaling $2.8 million to meet the critical needs of those affected by Hurricane Matthew.

The Foundation is focusing its support on providing the most severely affected communities with essential services and preventing the spread of cholera.

The two grants will go to International Medical Corps and CARE International, both of which have extensive experience working in Haiti and managing crisis situations.

The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation

The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation inspires hope by providing critical funding at critical times to communities striving to make a difference.

The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation is also committed to the children of Haiti, helping to grow and improve schools, medical services and overall well-being for communities in rural Haiti.

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew, The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation has announced it will match up to $250,000 in new funds donated to Hope for Haiti.

In its work with Hope for Haiti, the foundation deals primarily in the areas of homelessness, medical care, at-risk youth, education and veterans’ support. The Foundation provides transformational gifts to nonprofit organizations that are successfully addressing these issues and can demonstrate and measure the impact of their work.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.Through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partnerers it aspires to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world recieve care, shelter and hope.

The American Red Cross is on the ground providing safe shelter, food and relief supplies to help people still suffering from Hurricane Matthew’s lingering effects.“The Red Cross is working closely with the entire response community to provide safe shelter, water, food and essential relief supplies to affected individuals and families,”.To help people affected by Hurricane Matthew, the Red Cross has launched a widespread sheltering effort spanning four states and providing as many overnight stays in shelters as after Superstorm Sandy.
