The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking proposals from eligible organisations for a funding program entitled “Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Fund”.
The BLM is responsible for managing the habitat of over 245 listed or proposed species and for carrying out the recovery actions and goals that would benefit listed species on public lands.
Objectives
- To support projects that directly implements recovery plans leading to the eventual delisting of the species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
- To support projects that will prevent the need to list candidate or proposed species.
- Fund projects to implement on-the-ground recovery actions.
Program Performance Goals
- Support recovery action for species where recovery goals can be achieved in a 1-10 year timeframe.
- Demonstrate possible to down list, delist, and keep species off the Endangered Species List through the use of targeted restoration efforts.
Funding Information: The total funding expected to be awarded through this Announcement is $1,290,000.
