Deadline: 31 August 2018
The European Youth Press is inviting applicants to become one of the 57 young journalists, aged between 18 and 30, who will report from the European Parliament in Brussels in the framework of the European Youth Media Days (EYMD) between 16 and 18 October 2018.
The EYMD is one of the biggest events in Europe dedicated to young journalists. This year it will take place in the European Parliament seat in Brussels. Participants will experience three days of media workshops, political discussions, hands-on media production and invaluable insights into the European Parliament and international media milieu. They will interact with high-level European politicians, professional journalists and experts and engage in intercultural exchange through practical media production.
Over the course of the three-day workshop, each young journalist will work to produce a report on the topic of the seminar through their medium of choice. Each of the participants will be part of one of the workshops:

- Print-photograph (journalists + photographers): The project of this workshop is to write a feature/story for a magazine with one or more photographs.
- Photo report (photographers): The photographers should present a common project: a photo report with a maximum 15 photos, with common thread and a narrative (title and some short explanations to accompany the photos).
- Radio programme (journalists): The project should result in a radio programme which could be approx. 5-20 min.
- Video I (journalists + video editors): The project should result in a TV programme with additional graphics such as an intro, outro and name titles.
- Video II (journalists + video editors): This team will make short, up to 1:30 minutes, attractive videos.
- Multimedia (journalists + editors): Participants should pick one topic within the overall topic of communicating elections, and plan and produce a social media campaign in line with the existing one.
- Social media I (journalists): Participants will make audio-visual stories and/or graphical materials for sharing on social media.
- Social media II (journalists): Participants of the second group will create audiovisual stories/graphical materials for sharing on social media.
