Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2016 proposal contest! We received hundreds of fantastic proposals from all over the world, making it very difficult to decide on only two winners. However, these two winners were selected for their very high-quality proposals.
The winners of our $500 prizes are:

About Thanda:
Thanda empowers people to create positive change – change in individuals, change in their communities, and eventually changes that impact the world. In 2008, Thanda was founded in rural South Africa to provide basic after-school support for vulnerable children and youth. Since then, the organization has grown to support over 13,000 individuals annually through Early Childhood Development, After-school Programmes, and Organic Farming Training. Thanda involves a holistic approach to community development that builds the capacity of community members and encourages people to see themselves as agents of change.
About Toybox:
Founded in 1992, Toybox is a UK charity with a mission to end the global injustice of children living and working on the streets. Our aims are to significantly reduce the number of children on the streets in cities across the world and to break to cycle of poverty, abuse and exploitation that overwhelms street children and, in numerous cases, contributes to their death before adulthood.
Toybox projects provide some of the world’s most vulnerable children with the immediate care they urgently need; such as emergency medical treatment, food and shelter. We also work to achieve long-term, sustainable change in the lives of street children through birth registration, educational support and reintegration with families at home. Our vision is of a just world, with no street children.
