Applicants are invited to apply for 2020 Kellogg-Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge that harnesses the power of capital markets and student creativity to create positive impact in a world of perpetual resource scarcity and continued population growth.
The challenge seeks to identify outstanding proposals offering novel investment strategies to meet some of the most pressing global challenges ahead.
Every year, Kellogg-Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge invites teams of graduate students from around the globe to develop institutional-quality investment vehicles that seek positive environmental or social impact and competitive financial returns. Culminating in a final event with experts from some of the world’s leading financial and impact investing institutions, students present their proposals for judging on scales of financial innovation, feasibility and impact.
Why Compete?
- There are many competitions that focus on social entrepreneurship or early-stage investments. The Kellogg-Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge is different in that it focuses on scalable solutions created by finance.
- The Sustainable Investing Challenge asks applicants to consider finance and investment tools as a means to create impact on their own, and is one of the few ways for students to gain experience and get feedback crafting real proposals that fit into this critical and growing field.
- If applicants are interested in making finance a force for good, or using finance to leverage impact, this is the competition for applicants.
Funding Information
$15,000 in prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.
- Overall First Place: $10,000
- Overall Runner-Up: $5,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate students from around the world are invited to participate.
- Team are limited to a maximum of four members, all of whom must be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of the prospectus submission.
- All team may include members from different graduate schools.
- All ideas must be the original ideas of the team members.
