Applications open for Carrick Futures Fund (UK)

Request for Proposals: Public Diplomacy Section Annual Program (Timor-Leste)

Deadline: 04-Nov-2025

The Carrick Futures fund, administered by Foundation Scotland with support from ScottishPower Renewables, is now inviting grants to support community-led initiatives across South Carrick in Scotland.

Rooted in windfarm community benefit, the fund is backed by annual donations in the region of £500,000, although the actual grant amounts available at each round will depend on existing commitments.

Projects must benefit one or more of the six defined community council areas: Ballantrae, Colmonell & Lendalfoot, Barr, Barrhill, Dailly, Pinmore & Pinwherry, and Girvan & District. The fund seeks applications that align with its strategic priorities, which include improving access to public services, tackling inequality, promoting health and wellbeing, empowering children and young people, supporting sustainable community assets, and fostering climate-smart development.

There is flexibility in grant size. Small grants range from £500 to £5,000, standard grants from £5,001 to £50,000, while larger proposals exceeding £50,000 must begin with an enquiry through the fund’s two-stage process. Multi-year awards are permitted, typically up to three years in duration, providing room for sustained projects. For amounts up to £1,000, a micro-grant scheme is also managed locally by individual community councils in the fund’s area.

Applicants do not need to be registered charities—community groups and organisations based in the eligible areas may apply, provided they meet the fund’s standard eligibility criteria. All applications undergo assessment by Foundation Scotland and final decisions rest with the Carrick Futures Board. Each year, there are multiple review cycles with set deadlines throughout the calendar year, and award decisions typically follow a few months later.

With a focus on bottom-up regeneration and community well-being, Carrick Futures offers a compelling opportunity for grassroots groups in South Carrick to drive change, build resilience, and bring local aspirations to life.
