Deadline: 02-Sep-2025

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has launched a call for expressions of interest aimed at supporting health, nutrition, and social protection interventions in Cameroon’s East and Adamaoua regions.

This opportunity seeks to strengthen community-based systems by partnering with organizations capable of delivering inclusive, high-impact support to vulnerable populations, particularly households with children.

The initiative combines social policy advocacy with cross-sectoral programming, covering areas such as communication for development, disability inclusion, emergency response, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building. At its core, the program emphasizes the importance of social safety nets that are responsive, accessible, and tailored to the evolving needs of communities.

A key focus is the effective and secure delivery of cash assistance. Vulnerable households will be identified, registered, and verified using digital tools like the RESUC social registry and platforms such as HOPE. Beneficiary data will be kept current, and transfers will be distributed in a timely, accountable, and transparent manner.

Before assistance is deployed, pre-assessments of local market conditions, security issues, and feasibility will be conducted. As local partners, selected organizations will play a central role in promoting the program among community leaders and authorities to ensure local ownership and engagement.

Robust community feedback and complaint mechanisms will be operationalized, enabling beneficiaries to raise concerns and receive timely responses. These mechanisms are essential for reinforcing accountability and trust between program implementers and the communities they serve.

The program also integrates social and behavioral change activities, tailored to the specific challenges faced by families. In addition, connections to social services may be established to address more complex or long-term needs. These complementary “cash plus” services may include support in nutrition, hygiene, education, and child protection.

All interventions will be tracked using standard post-distribution monitoring tools. The data collected will help measure the effectiveness of the assistance and guide future improvements. Through these efforts, local systems and community capacities will be strengthened to support sustainability and resilience beyond the project period.

UNICEF’s initiative offers a timely opportunity for organizations to contribute to a comprehensive, community-driven approach that not only meets immediate needs but also builds stronger, more inclusive systems for the future.
