Request for Proposals: Continuing Education Fund (Denmark)

MEST Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship - Ghana

Deadline: 23-Oct-2025

The Novo Nordisk Foundation is seeking applications for its Continuing Education Fund to promote general scientific education and strengthen interest, knowledge and skills in science, technology and sustainability among children and young people in Denmark.

The purpose of the continuing education pool is to support teachers’ ongoing didactic development and professional commitment through individually tailored and practice-oriented continuing education in short formal or informal courses. The purpose is also to provide time for reflection, job satisfaction, sparring with colleagues and development of teaching at one’s own educational institution.

The total pool for this support is up to DKK 50 million, for continuing education activities that will take place in the 2026/27 school year. The grant covers the course fee, as well as temporary cover or paid hours for up to five course days and three development days. The development days are for teachers to develop their own teaching or to share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues at their own educational institution.

The support covers only these three specific expenses. Any additional costs, such as VAT, transport, meals, accommodation, and materials not included in the course fee, must be borne by the educational institution. The educational institution is also responsible for co-financing the time of colleagues involved in knowledge sharing activities.

Teachers can apply for support for participation in one course per application round, and only for those courses listed in the course list. Teachers employed to teach specific subjects at a public or private primary or secondary school can apply for support for their own continuing education, with applications made personally by the individual teacher in agreement with their principal.

Prerequisites: Primary school subjects are science/technology, physics/chemistry, biology, geography, and mathematics, and for the preschool class, the areas of competence are mathematical attention and natural phenomena. Subjects in high school (stx, htx, hhx, hf, vuc) are natural sciences, basic course (NV), physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, natural geography, geosciences, astronomy, mathematics, informatics, engineering subjects, technology, and natural science subject group.

It is important to note that the grant will only be paid out after the teacher has reported on the activities, approximately three months after the course ends. This means that the educational institution must cover the initial costs of the course.
