Applications open for WCIT Charity Grant Program (UK)

#image_title

Deadline: 18-Aug-2025

The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists Charity is now accepting grant applications to support initiatives focused on technology, inclusion, education, and public understanding of IT. Their funding aims to help charities pilot innovative tech that improves operational efficiency, enhances beneficiaries’ lives, or scales across the nonprofit sector. However, the fund does not support basic IT infrastructure or general website creation unless it’s specifically for beneficiary use.

Projects addressing digital inclusion and accessibility are welcomed, particularly those showing high social return on investment and membership in the Good Things Foundation’s Digital Inclusion Network. Proposals in education, especially those that introduce STEM skills or innovative tech-based learning tools for children and girls, are encouraged. Public understanding of IT is a smaller focus area supported through existing partnerships.

Grants of up to £15,000 are available. Eligible applicants must be UK-registered charities or not-for-profit entities, including CICs. Organisations must be at least one year old and able to provide the necessary financial and governance documents. Applications from entities with over £1 million in income or reserves, or that benefit fewer than 25 people directly, will not be considered.

The application requirements vary depending on the amount requested. Projects must not allocate more than £300 per beneficiary, and the funding sought should not be less than 25% of the total project budget. Additional documentation, including safeguarding policies and references, is required based on the grant size.

This opportunity is ideal for established charities with innovative tech-based solutions aiming to create real impact in their communities.
