Kosovo 2.0 (K2.0), a pioneering media outlet based in Prishtina, continues to shape the regional media landscape through its commitment to explanatory, contextual, and narrative journalism.
It has transitioned from producing a series of theme-based print magazines to a fully digital publication, while consistently engaging the public through diverse events and non-formal education initiatives that complement its journalistic mission.
Up to three projects will be funded per round, with each eligible to receive a grant of up to 5,000 EUR. Funding is project-based and may not be used for institutional support.
As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen independent journalism, K2.0 has launched a new Call for Proposals aimed at empowering small-scale local media outlets. The initiative seeks to enhance the capacity of these organizations to produce high-quality, fact-based content and to foster stronger community engagement. A central focus of the program is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiency and sustainability within the media sector, helping outlets adapt to the evolving digital landscape.
Selected grantees will benefit from both financial and professional support. Each participating outlet will receive tailored mentoring sessions and funding to develop content that actively combats misinformation and disinformation in the AI era. The program also aims to strengthen grantees’ project management and financial planning skills—key factors in ensuring long-term stability and impact.
Eligible applicants must be registered media outlets based and operating in Kosovo, either as NGOs or private media businesses, employing no more than 15 staff members. All selected projects must be completed within a six-month period, beginning no earlier than December 1, 2025, and ending no later than May 31, 2026.
This initiative represents an opportunity for small media outlets in Kosovo to strengthen their voice, embrace innovation, and contribute to a more informed and resilient media environment.
