The Digital Leaders Impact Awards is now open for nominations to celebrate digital technology innovations that improve people’s lives and the world around us.
Every year, they open nominations up to any person, business, government or non-profit creating or delivering digital products or services for positive social impact.
Themes and Categories
The Awards are categorised under three themes: People, Society and Business. Under each of these themes are three categories.
- People:
- Digital Poverty:
- Digital inclusion is no longer something that’s ‘nice to have’ – it’s an essential. Being cut off from digital isn’t just an inconvenience – it compounds and exacerbates poverty. Digital poverty is no longer something they can ignore if they’re interested in a just and equal society.
- This award is for an organisation, service or initiative tackling one or more of the five barriers to digital participation: access, devices and connectivity, capability, motivation, support and participation.
- Education:
- The use of new technologies in education can play a crucial role in providing new and innovative forms of support to teachers, students, and the learning process more broadly.
- This award is for an organisation, service or initiative leveraging technology to transform both teaching and learning in schools, colleges and universities.
- Mental Health & Wellbeing:
- Technology is often blamed for a crisis in mental health with social media culture and the pressure to be ‘always on’ reducing wellbeing and contributing to individual stress and anxiety. However, it is also increasingly part of the solution, with an explosion of online and new tech led services increasing wellbeing and providing individualised mental health support.
- Digital Poverty:
- Society:
- Tech for the Planet:
- Technology is helping to reduce climate change and environmental damage, leading to more sustainable methodologies including renewables; circular economies.
- HealthTech:
- Digital technology is helping to transform access to healthcare and data is allowing better diagnostics. New technologies are being leveraged by the sector to offer faster and more affordable solutions to society.
- Social Transformation:
- Technology has the power to improve society in innumerable ways. Many organisations are making society a better place by building digital solutions to social challenges.
- Tech for the Planet:

- Employment & Skills:
- As the world of employment changes, employees and organisations need to adapt to support new skills and ways of working. There are many organisations leveraging technology to improve access to employment, and accelerate the learning of new skills within the workforce.
- Tech for Diversity:
- The clear benefits of an inclusive workforce make diversity and inclusion vital to business success. Through implementing improved logistics and productivity software, businesses can significantly improve their work environment for employees of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or language.
- CSR Initiative:
- In the past few decades, more business leaders have recognized that they have a responsibility to do more than simply maximise profits for shareholders and executives. This is recognised in the ESG guidance and is about a business’s impact on society, the environment, and how transparent and accountable it is.
