Nominations are now open for the Pride of Brent Youth Awards to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the brilliant young people in their borough.

Nomination Rules

The following nomination rules apply:
- The young person being nominated must live in the borough
- Nominees must be at least 11 years old and no older than 21 by the 31 January 2022 (the maximum age for care leavers and young people with disabilities is 25). Please note this includes both individual and group nominations.
- You cannot nominate a young person you are related to.
- You can only submit two nominations – whether that is for an individual or group award.
- Self-nominations for both individual and group awards will not be accepted.
- The individual / group you are nominating must agree to being nominated.
- Parent/guardian must agree to the nomination for both the individual and group award (This will be confirmed by the Community and Social Infrastructure Team after submission).
- You agree that by submitting a nomination you are happy for the young person’s name and photograph to be included in press / media releases.
- The award-giving ceremony will be filmed and put on the Brent website.
- An individual or group can only win one award. If they are nominated by different people for more than one award, the assessment panel will decide which category they are most suited.
- Nominations for party political related work cannot be accepted.
- No posthumous awards will be considered.
Criteria

Community spirit Award
- Criteria: A young person or group who has provided outstanding community and voluntary service has made a significant contribution to their community
- Who is it for: Individuals and groups aged 11 to 21 years old.

Young leader Award
- Criteria: A young person who has lead others to bring about positive change in their community, school or area.
- Who is it for: Individuals aged 11 to 21 years old.

Youth organisation of the year
- Criteria: A youth and community organisation that has supported and worked with young people making lasting and impacting change to their lives
- Who is it for: Organisations.

Volunteer Award
- Criteria: A young person or group of young people who have shown dedication in giving their free time to a project and made a difference in their community
- Who is it for: Individuals aged 11 to 21 years old

Special recognition Award
- Criteria: A young person or group of young people that have achieved something unique or unexpected in their community.
- Who is it for: Individuals and groups aged 11 to 16 and 17 to 21 years old.

Special progress Award
- Criteria: A young person that despite having personal challenges has continued to show motivation to succeed and make positive life choices
- Who is it for: Individuals aged 11 to 21 years old.

Positive role model Award
- Criteria: This is aimed at 11-24 year olds, who have been a positive role model to young people in their community
- Who is it for: Individuals aged 11 to 24 years old.

Young disability champion Award
- Criteria: A young person who has achieved, working through disability or a young person who has contributed to improving the lives of those with disability
- Who is it for: Individuals aged 11 to 25 years old

Brent young Environmentalist Award
- Criteria: A young person or group of young people who have provided a service to improve the environment for the benefit of their local community
- Who is it for: Individuals aged 11 to 21 years old.
