Applications are now open for the 2027 kanthari Course

Call for Proposals: Training for Oman - MENA Scholarship Programme (Netherlands)

Deadline: 28-Feb-2027

You know the change society needs, kanthari gives you the tools.

The kanthari Impact Leadership Institute in Kerala, South India, offers a 12-month, fully scholarship-based programme equipping change-makers with all it takes to start their own impact making organisation.

The programme combines rigorous training with mentorship, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds who share a mission to drive ethical social change in their communities.

Applicants should be over 22 years old and demonstrate a strong personal purpose to make a positive impact. The programme welcomes those who have overcome adversity—whether through disability, discrimination, poverty, or other hardships—and who have ideas or projects that address societal challenges. Proficiency in English and basic computer skills are required.

The kanthari programme spans 12 months and is designed as a blended learning journey. It begins with two months of online preparation starting in April, followed by seven months of intensive residential training in Kerala, India. The programme concludes with three months of online mentorship, supporting participants as they plan, launch, or strengthen their grassroots initiatives. By combining online learning, in-person experience, and remote guidance, kanthari ensures participants develop both practical skills and sustained support for on-the-ground impact.

Candidates are selected based not only on the strength of their idea for social change but also on characteristics such as creativity, intrinsic drive, adaptability, strong work ethic, and willingness to take ownership. The programme looks for individuals who are motivated by values and impact rather than formal credentials.

Through kanthari’s Admissions process, participants gain not only the skills to manage NGOs or social ventures effectively but also access to a network of global changemakers. Graduates leave equipped with practical tools—project planning, fundraising, communication, leadership—and with confidence to shape change in their communities.

If you are passionate about social justice, environmental inclusion, innovation or transforming your community, this is an opportunity to amplify your impact through structured learning, connections, and support. The next kanthari course starts in April 2027 ONLINE and in May 2027 on campus in Kerala.
