Open Call for 2022 Ignite Stage Program

Call for Applications: Disaster Ready Fund (Australia)

Deadline: 31-Jan-22

The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is pleased to launch an open call for the 2022 Ignite Stage Program to provide an opportunity to expose ideas and initiatives in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) to the global DRR community.

The seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) will be organized and convened by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) from 23 to 28 May 2022, in Bali, Indonesia, hosted by the Government of Indonesia. The event will be co-chaired by the Government of Indonesia and UNDRR.

Objectives

The objective is to complement and expand the range of topics and projects discussed at the GP2022 beyond those presented in the main sessions and side events.

Following the GP2022 theme “From Risk to Resilience: Towards Sustainable Development for All in a COVID-19 Transformed World”, the GP2022 Ignite Stage will focus on how the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the traditional understanding of risk and disaster risk governance. Through a range of interventions, it aims to explore how the global crisis can be turned into an opportunity for the necessary radical transformation needed to achieve the goal and targets of the Sendai Framework, as well as of the 2030 Agenda.

They are aiming for a comprehensive and balanced coverage of DRR themes at the Ignite Stage but they are particularly encouraging applicants willing to share projects and ideas related to the GP2022 key themes and cross-cutting themes as per the list.
