Applications are now open for the Mosaic 2.0 – 2022: PhD Scholarship Program aimed at the under-represented group of graduates with a migration background from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America and Turkey in the Netherlands.
Mosaic 2.0 aims to stimulate the influx of the under-represented group of graduates in the Netherlands who are migrants and/or children or migrants into academia. In doing so Mosaic 2.0 aims to promote the further development of an inclusive work environment within Dutch knowledge institutes.
By facilitating the creation of networks, the academic potential of this group of researchers is made more visible.
Funding Information
- For an application in response to this Call for proposals in total a maximum of € 330,000 can be requested. The maximum duration of the proposed project is between 48 months (1 fte) or equivalents of that up to a maximum of 96 months (0,5 fte). Next to that for each fte per PhD position per year of the appointment a maximum of € 15,000 material budget can be requested.
Eligibility Criteria
- PhD researchers are applicants themselves and submit a pre-proposal or full application, in agreement with the intended PhD supervisor and daily supervisor. The intended PhD supervisor also has to fill in a recommendation.
- For applications the following requirements apply:
- Applicants need to be in possession of a MA degree and have either obtained their BA or MA degree in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
- An application can only be submitted by one applicant (not for another applicant, duos or (research) teams).
- The applicant is migrant and born in one of the following countries of origin residing in level 2: Outside Europe (to be specific: Turkey, Morocco, Suriname and Indonesia); level 3: Other outside Europe (to be specific, countries of origin residing in Other Africa and Other Asia). Countries of origin in Other America and Oceania are ruled out, except for Central and South America, the Caribbean region and the indigenous populations of Other America and Oceania.
- and/or:
- The applicant is child of migrants of which at least one of the parents of the applicant is born in one of the abovementioned countries of origin.
- The applicant is in possession of the Dutch nationality or a valid residency permit (types II or IV) at the moment of submitting a full application. This is a strict requirement and cannot deviated from.
- Applicants are external PhD researchers and comply with the abovenmentioned requirements. Under external PhD researchers we understand PhD researchers who finance their research from their own means. Before submitting the applicant contacts the secretary of Mosaic 2.0 and elucidates on the status of their research.
