The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for proposals in the White Nile state of Sudan, targeting nutrition initiatives that address both malnutrition prevention and treatment.
This opportunity seeks experienced and capable Cooperating Partners (CPs) to work with WFP over a twelve-month period to implement, monitor, and deliver nutrition activities aligned with two of the organization’s key Strategic Outcomes. The initiative highlights the importance of partnerships that bring together complementary expertise and comparative advantages to achieve stronger, more sustainable nutrition results.
The programme is aligned with WFP’s Sudan Country Strategic Plan (CSP), focusing on Strategic Outcome 1 and Strategic Outcome 2, which aim to ensure that nutritionally vulnerable populations have reliable access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food. In White Nile, where communities face ongoing challenges related to food insecurity and undernutrition, this initiative seeks to address critical needs while creating the foundation for long-term resilience and improved health outcomes.
Through this partnership, WFP and its Cooperating Partners will integrate complementary measures into existing food and nutrition assistance platforms. This approach is designed to strengthen the nutritional status of the population by addressing both immediate and long-term needs. By combining food support with targeted nutrition interventions, the programme aims to improve health and well-being for vulnerable groups, particularly children, women, and other at-risk populations.
This call for proposals demonstrates WFP’s ongoing commitment to combating hunger and malnutrition in Sudan. By engaging partners with the capacity to deliver effective nutrition programmes, WFP aims to create lasting improvements in the nutritional status of communities in White Nile, supporting sustainable development and a healthier, more food-secure future for all.
