Thomson Reuters Foundation’s Reporting on Immunisation Training Programme

In-person and Virtual Fellowships for Journalists in Asia-Pacific

Deadline: 22-Nov-20

The Thomson Reuters Foundation in partnership with the Sabin Vaccine Institute launches an 8 day-long training programme “Reporting on Immunisation and Vaccination” for staff or freelance journalists from Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

The course will be available in English (from 30th of November to 9th of December) and Russian (from 7th to 16th of December) in two groups of 15 people each.

The programme will be covering a wide scope of immunisation-related topics: the role of vaccines in public health, new and emerging issues particularly around COVID-19 vaccines, and the responsibility of media in educating the public about misinformation on vaccines and immunization.

The programme consists of 4 days of online training, followed by 4 days of one-to-one online mentoring for all participants.

Trainers will include former senior journalists from international media outlets such as Reuters and BBC, with guest speakers from the science and health professions.
