Request for Proposals: Journalism Partnerships – Collaborations 2026

Submissions open for Journalism Support Fund Program in Brazil

Deadline: 4-February-2026

This opportunity is designed to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of news media across Europe by encouraging collaborative business models, innovative production techniques and shared technological infrastructure. It is particularly relevant for media organisations seeking to adapt to the challenges of the digital age and to work together in new ways.

Eligible projects should involve at least three independent organisations from three different eligible countries and must focus on transforming journalism through cooperation, technology, or production innovation. They may include development of new revenue streams, shared newsroom models or content-syndication networks, as well as collaborative workflows, audience engagement strategies and cross-sector partnerships. Projects must show how they will deliver measurable impact for the journalism sector and contribute to pluralism, quality reporting and media sustainability.

The available budget for this call is around €13.8 million, with funding offered of up to €2 million per project. Projects are expected to last up to 24 months and will need to clearly define their objectives, needs analysis, deliverables and performance indicators. Applications will be submitted through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal and must comply with eligibility and consortium requirements.

This funding call presents a valuable opportunity for news media organisations, networks and cross-sector partners to come together, test innovative models and strengthen the future of journalism in Europe. By building partnerships across borders and media sectors, applicants can contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive and technologically agile media ecosystem.
