2018 Call for Proposals: Promoting Equal Opportunities for Children Coming from Underprivileged Backgrounds

The CMA CGM Corporate Foundation for Children has launched its 2018 call for proposals for this sixth edition to support projects aimed at Promoting equal opportunities for children coming from underprivileged backgrounds in France (Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur only) and in Lebanon.

For the year 2018, grants will be awarded through a Call for proposals aimed at improving life conditions, the well-being and personal fulfillment of children coming from underprivileged backgrounds, on one of the following areas:

• Reduction of education inequalities, the maintenance or re-establishment in school
• Access to cultural, sporting and recreational activities adapted to children’s abilities
• Support in favor of equipment and facilities for the conservation or re-establishment of family relations
• Support in favor of equipment to improve the quality of life in children’s welcome centers and care facilities
• Projects that promote digital inclusion (i.e. make digital learning accessible to each child).

Funding Information

The amount of financial aid granted by the CMA CGM Corporate Foundation is between 5 000 and 35 000 Euros.

Eligibility Criteria

• Projects eligibility
  • The CMA CGM Corporate Foundation only considers projects:
    • Relating to the theme of the 2018 Call for proposals outlined above
    • That will be implemented in the concerned territories of the Foundation (PACA region in France and in Lebanon)
    • Having filled and submitted a complete application before the deadline.
• Eligible organizations
  • The Foundation only considers projects offered and implemented by non-profit organizations of general interest, mainly associations.
    • Projects initiated by individuals or related to individuals are not eligible
• Public
  • The beneficiaries of the projects are children aged 0 to 18, coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. These include:
    • Children educated in a Priority Education Zone
    • From sensitive urban zones
    • Living in isolated rural areas
    • Placed with Child-Care Services
    • Experiencing social, familial or educational difficulties
• Territory
  • The call for proposals concerns exclusively actions to be implemented:
    • In France: In the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region only
    • In Lebanon: in all Lebanese regions.

The CMA CGM Corporate Foundation supports projects:

• Responding to uncovered needs
• With an innovative aspect
• Promoting the autonomy and the social integration of children and youth
• Strengthening of family relations
