The AB Charitable Trust is seeking applications for its grant program to promote human dignity and human rights in United Kingdom.

The AB Charitable Trust is an independent grant-making organization, founded in 1990 by Yves and Anne Bonavero to champion human dignity and support marginalized and excluded groups. The Trust has no endowment and is funded annually by the Bonavero family.

What they Fund?

  1. Migrants and Refugees
    • Deliver services directly targeting migrant communities, and people who are refugees or seeking asylum;
    • Influence policy and / or counter negative narrative;
    • Strengthen the voluntary sector and support charities delivering work in this area.
  2. Criminal Justice and Penal Reform
    • Deliver services to improve outcomes for individuals (and their families) who are in the criminal justice system (at any stage, from contact with police to courts and prison);
    • Support effective rehabilitation in the community;
    • Work to influence policy and to reform the criminal justice system;
    • Strengthen the sector and support charities delivering work in this area.
  3. Human Rights particularly, access to justice
    • Provide specialist legal advice and representation;
    • Work to influence policy through e.g. strategic litigation or public law challenges;
    • Strengthens the sector and supports charities delivering work in this area.
