The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Georgia announces a procedure for acceptance and selection of project proposals to be implemented with grants within the official development assistance of the Republic of Bulgaria with initial implementation in 2022 year.
Purposes
Support for Georgia’s European integration and development of bilateral relations, including:
- Establishing the good name and international authority of the Republic of Bulgaria;
- Promoting democratic processes based on the values of democracy and the rule of law;
- Building transparent, accountable and stable institutions at national, regional and local level, guaranteeing a high level of protection of human rights, as a prerequisite for sustainable and upward development;
- Support for quality and affordable education.
Priority Areas
The priority areas and directions for implementation of projects on the territory of Georgia are:
- Providing inclusive and quality education, including by improving educational infrastructure and access to education;
- Support for capacity building and development in the field of democratization, good governance and human rights, with special attention to children, women, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups;
- Improve private sector access to the European market by implementing EU standards, with a special focus on agriculture and food safety.
Funding Information
- The minimum allowable value of a project is BGN 5,000.
- The recommended maximum value of a project is up to BGN 70,000
Target Groups
- State and local administration in Georgia;
- Educational institutions – kindergartens, schools, day care centers, etc.
- Marginalized and vulnerable groups, with special emphasis on children, women, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, etc.
- Non-governmental organizations, whose projects contribute to the realization of the priorities and the achievement of the goals of the Bulgarian official ” Development Assistance”.
- Others – organizations contributing through their activities to the establishment of the good name of the Republic of Bulgaria and developing activities in the areas mentioned in the announcement, namely: protection of human rights, education and care for vulnerable groups, agriculture and food safety, etc.
Expected Results
- Establishing the good name and international authority of the Republic of Bulgaria, expanding the opportunities for transfer of expertise between the Republic of Bulgaria and Georgia
- Deepening the interaction between the institutions at central, regional and local level, in order to ensure a high level of protection of human rights, rule of law, democracy and good governance
- Improving socio-economic development and good governance, leading to sustainable and inclusive economic development, reducing poverty and increasing prosperity
- Improving the quality and expanding access to education, incl. and for the most vulnerable groups of the population
- Adoption and application of good practices and European standards.
Eligibility Criteria
- Primary and secondary budget managers – legal entities of Georgia
- International and local non- governmental organizations
- Municipalities and their associations
- Educational, health and social institutions
- Mezhdun Arod humanitarian organizations
- Other – organizations that contribute through the activities themselves to strengthening the reputation of the Republic of Bulgaria and operating in the areas mentioned in the advertisement.
