The People’s Health Trust has announced Active Communities a funding programme for community groups and not-for-profit organisations, with an income of less than £350,000 a year or an average of £350,000 over two years.
Their Active Communities funding programme is currently open in Health Lottery North West.
Funding Information
- Active Communities is for projects seeking investment of between £5,000 and £40,000 for projects lasting up to two years.
- They’re looking for small and local projects, genuinely designed and run by local people.
Eligibility Criteria
You can only apply for funding from the Active Communities programme if:
- Your organisation supports people to create or shape local projects that will help their community or neighbourhood to become even better
- You are a not for profit organisation or group
- Your income is less than £350,000 a year, or an average of £350,000 or less over the last two years
- You have less than six months’ annual running costs in savings (with no restrictions on the money) after you have deducted the grant you wish to request from them
- Your organisation has been constituted for at least three months.
Eligible organisations:
- The Active Communities Programme will only award grants to the following types of organisations which have been set up for three months:
- Incorporated organisations:
- A charity registered in England, Scotland or Wales
- Charitable incorporated organisation
- A company limited by guarantee
- A Community Interest Company limited by guarantee (not shares)
- Charitable Community Benefit Societies
- Community Benefit Societies with a charitable asset lock and clearly defined members
- Incorporated organisations:
- In line with good practice incorporated organisations should have a minimum of three unrelated trustees or directors.
- Unincorporated organisation/Constituted Community organsiations: You must be a constituted group or voluntary organisation or association with a social / charitable purpose and at least three unrelated people aged over 18 on the management committee and have been running for at least three months.
