The European Youth Foundation (EYF) is a fund established in 1972 by the Council of Europe to provide financial and educational support for European youth activities. The foundation is accepting applications for its Structural Grants that are grants for general administrative costs incurred by youth NGOs.
Grant Categories
The EYF offers two types of structural grants:
Structural grant for 2 consecutive years
- These grants are available every 2 years and are only accessible to international youth NGOs and international networks of youth NGOs that have received support for at least 3 international activities during the 3 previous years (EYF grant or study session in the annual programme of the European Youth Centres). However, the grant needs to be confirmed after 1 year. The grant is based on strategic long-term programme of the organisation.
- The maximum grant allocated is € 25,000 per year for 2 years (i.e. a maximum of €50,000 for 2 years).
- The EYF budget available is € 630,000 for each of the two years.
One-off structural grant
- The one-off grant is non-renewable. It can be applied for by regional networks of youth NGOs aiming to establish a European co-ordination body. NGOs must have received support for at least 3 international activities during the 3 previous years (EYF grant or study session in the annual programme of the European Youth Centres). If an NGO receives a structural grant, admin costs cannot be included in the budget of an international activity or work plan.
- The maximum grant allocated is € 10,000.
- The EYF budget available is € 30,000 per year.
Eligibility criteria
- International youth NGOs (branches in at least seven member States of the European Youth Foundation) and international networks (composed of at least seven member organisations from at least seven member States of the European Youth Foundation)
- with a European structure or a European secretariat;
- having received support during the 3 previous years (reference period: 2015, 2016 and 2017) for at least 3 international activities (EYF grant or study session in the annual programme of the European Youth Centres);
- having received EYF grants in at least 2 out of the 3 years of the reference period.
- The following are considered as support for international activities:
- an EYF grant for an international one-off activity;
- an EYF grant for an annual work plan (the number of international activities within a work plan will be taken into account up to a maximum of 2 per work plan);
- one study session in the programme of the European Youth Centres (Strasbourg or Budapest) during the three-year reference period.
- An international organisation/network is not eligible if:
- it has been supported only for study sessions during the reference period;
- it did not receive any EYF grant during the two most recent years of the reference period (2016 and 2017);
- it has received EYF grants for only one year during the reference period.
