The Prince George’s County Council is accepting applications for its Domestic Violence Grant Program (DVGP) to end domestic violence and abuse in the County.
The grant program is a funding resource for programs that serve the Housing, Mental Health/Counseling, or Advocacy/Legal Services for County residents who are survivors of domestic violence. The program also supports workforce development activities through a coordinated and collaborative community response to domestic violence in Prince George’s County.
The purpose of the Domestic Violence Grant Program is to make available crisis and support services and meet the needs of victims of domestic violence and their families.
Categories
The service categories are:
- Housing
- Availability/accessibility of safe housing for survivors of domestic violence
- Workforce Development
- Focus on helping individuals grow and develop their skills in preventing family violence, domestic violence and dating violence.
- Counseling/Mental Health Services
- Availability/accessibility of domestic violence counseling and mental health services for survivors, children and abusers
- Advocacy/Legal Services
- Availability/accessibility to domestic violence victim advocates including legal assistance.
Funding Information
- Amount: $500,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit organizations that promote comprehensive domestic violence programs and a coordinated and collaborative community response to domestic violence in Prince George’s County are eligible to submit one or more applications for the Prince Georges County Council Domestic Violence Grant Program.
- Applicants are required to apply for grant funding through the Prince George County Council Grants Office and satisfy all grant requirements.
