Applications are now open for the Our Kids Community Grants to assist and improve the health of children in the Northern Rivers.
Grants are available to children’s health services within hospitals and community health organisations, to health professionals, special groups for chronically ill children and parents and guardians of children who live within the Northern Rivers.
These grants are funded by Our Kids and the James Frizelle Charitable Foundation
Funding Information
- The maximum amount for a grant application is $2000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following guidelines apply to all applications:
- Applicants must be 16 years or younger as of the 1st July 2025.
- Grants will be for items which can be demonstrated to provide medical or therapeutic assistance to individual children or groups of children.
- Generally, the principle prevails of spreading the funds around to as many applicants as possible, which means a larger number of smaller grants are the goal, rather than a smaller number of larger grants.
- Consideration is given as to whether an applicant has received grants in previous years from the Our Kids grant scheme.
- It is a condition of the grant, that items which are no longer of use to successful applicants – e.g. when children may have ‘outgrown’ the equipment – maybe returned to Our Kids to form an equipment pool for the use of other children. Thus, some applications may be satisfied through equipment already purchased with the Our Kids scheme in previous years. e.g. walking frames.
- Please note that Our Kids cannot order/purchase goods online or from overseas companies. Medical/therapeutic equipment quotes should be obtained from Australian based companies and not through an online order system. Please support local businesses where possible.
