Apply for Community Climate Change Fund – United Kingdom

Submit Proposals for Capacity-building Projects supporting Just Transition Ambitions in South Africa

Deadline: 31-Aug-2024

The Staffordshire Moorlands District Council is currently accepting applications for the Community Climate Change Fund.

The Staffordshire Moorlands Community Climate Change Fund has been established as part of the Council’s efforts to tackle climate change. The fund is intended to provide small grants to community-based organisations taking measures locally to tackle the climate emergency.

The aim is to mobilise the resources of local communities, encourage people to work together in a voluntary capacity and empower individuals and communities to take actions which: reduce local CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions; increase the ability of nature to absorb and store greenhouse gas emission; and build resilience in nature to mitigate the impact of climate change.

Small grants are available to help support the delivery of the Climate Change Strategy. It will support practical measures such as tree planting and habitat improvement, educative actions to increase awareness and the skills needed to change and adapt lifestyles, green travel/transport schemes, energy saving in community buildings, local food projects and recycling and reuse projects.
