Are you aged 12-26, living in regional WA and looking to run your own arts project in your community to develop skills and experience in a creative field? If yes, then apply now for Regional Arts WA’s Drug Aware YCulture Regional Grant Program.
Through Drug Aware YCulture Regional you can apply for up to $4,000 if living in regional WA or up to $6,000 if you live in remote WA, or above the 26th parallel, to support you in delivering your arts project.
Funded activities will provide skills and creative development opportunities for young people and could include (but are not limited to) arts workshops, masterclasses, community events, productions across any art form – encompassing music, visual art, costume design, script writing, textiles, street art, theatre, spoken word, film, dance, photography, new media and animation.
Projects will provide an opportunity for young people aged 12-26yrs (that’s you!) to drive the project from application to delivery to acquittal, under the auspice of a local organisation such as a Shire, a community group or an arts organisation.
Drug Aware YCulture Regional is a funding and development program for youth arts and culture projects developed by young people living in regional Western Australia.
Funding Information
- The applicants can apply for up to $4,000 if living in regional WA or up to $6,000 if the applicants live in remote WA.
- Funding can cover project expenses including:
- artist and arts worker fees
- artist and arts worker travel costs
- project materials
- venue hire
- equipment hire
- promotional costs
- costs for documenting the project
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants must be 12 – 26 years old and live in regional WA.
- The project must happen in a location in regional WA.
- Important details to be aware of:
- All projects must occur in smoke, drug and alcohol-free environments.
- Projects must promote the Drug Aware message through exclusive naming writes, signage, merchandise and verbal acknowledgement, if successful.
- Drug Aware YCulture Regional will not fund projects that have already occurred.
- The project cannot be a fundraising activity and tickets of more than $10 cannot be sold.
- Activities that are curriculum based or part of a school’s core activities will not be supported.
- The grant does not cover camps, conferences or conventions.
- The grant does not cover infrastructure (core staff) or capital works costs (equipment purchases).
- Projects that already receive Healthway funding are not eligible for Drug Aware YCulture Regional.
- Some events or venues will not be sponsored where Heathway already have an existing sponsorship commitment- talk to the Project Officer if the applicants have any questions.
- Organizations can only auspice two (2) Drug Aware YCulture Regional projects per calendar year.
- An auspice must have finalized all past funding requirements of Healthway and Regional Arts WA.
