The Aussie Farmers Foundation is seeking applications for its Rural Hero Grant to give charities the opportunity to pitch their innovative solution to an issue impacting country Australia – using the power of social media.
Focus Areas
- Economic wellbeing of farms and farming families
- Disaster relief for farming communities including drought
- Kids health & healthy eating including food provenance awareness
- Food waste and food security
- Mental health for farming communities
Funding Information
- The grant of up to $50,000 will be awarded to the project with the most votes.
- The project must be delivered within 2 years of receipt of the funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grassroots organisations are encouraged to apply.
- Aussie Farmers Foundation is bound by the Aussie Farmers Foundation Trust Deed and to be eligible for granting, organisations must be Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 and TCC (Tax Concession Charity).
- Organisations that are DGR Item 1 but are not Tax Concession Charities or Government Entities may not be eligible.
- All applicants must be confident in their ability to produce a short video for the purposes of the social pitch and voting process should they be successfully shortlisted.
- The Foundation would like to assure applicants that there is no expectation that the production of the video will require any professional support or investment – rather, the foundation is looking for short, fun videos that showcase applicant’s project idea to the Australian public on social media channels.
- All applicants must be prepared to provide regular updates to the Aussie Farmers Foundation and to work collaboratively with the Foundation to raise awareness of the focus issue(s) and the project with the Foundation’s stakeholders.
