The Ku-ring-gai Council is pleased to announce the Environmental Levy Grants.
Program Details
- The project must deliver one of the following:
- Increase community understanding of the value of the natural environment and local issues and impacts
- Increase community action that benefits the natural environment
- Improve the condition of bushland or the conservation of native flora and fauna
- Effectively engage the community in improved waste reduction, reuse, and recycling
- Applicants will also need to demonstrate how their project:
- Provides a measurable benefit to the Ku-ring-gai environment or community
- Partners with local groups/people to achieve its goals
- Can effectively meet its objectives
Funding Information
- Each year Council offers individual grants of up to $5,000.
What is eligible to be funded by the grant?
- Contractors, for example, Bush Regenerators, to carry out environmental works
- Guest speakers for an educational workshop/presentation etc.
- Native Beehives, Bee Hotels, and pollinator gardens
- Citizen Science projects, Environment/Sustainability awareness education
- Research carried out in Ku-ring-gai/ for the benefit of Ku-ring-gai
Eligibility Criteria
- Community groups, schools, universities, not-for-profits, and individuals.
Ineligible Criteria
- Commercial businesses
- Previous Grant recipients who have not completed and returned an acquittal form
What is not eligible to be funded?
- Paying wages/reimbursing the applicant.
- Advertising/Marketing materials including photocopying
- Reimbursement for legal or other fees
- Rainwater tanks
- Solar panels
