The Variety is offering grants through its BeKids Grant Program that provides practical equipment to help WA kids have a fair go.
The items funded will help kids access the community, extracurricular endeavours and support their wellbeing. Variety provides assistance that is not accessible through government funding and alternative services
Funding Information
The applicant can select one or more items as part of their grant request, as long as it is within the capped request limit. The items must be directly related to the child wellbeing and needs.

Eligible Items:
- Bike or scooter (school age children only).
- Prescription glasses.
- Extracurricular supplies (sport uniform / equipment).
- Play equipment (remote areas only).
- Request Limit: $400.
- Household Limit: $50,000pa.
Eligibility Criteria
You are eligible to apply for a grant provided the following criteria are met:
- Child must reside in WA.
- Child is aged 0-17.
- Child is affected by financial hardship or disadvantage, and may also have a long-term health condition or disability.
- The annual family household income is below the guide.
- Equipment is not available via government funded or alternative service.
Ineligible
Ineligible requests:
- Items where funding is available from the government or other grant funds.
- Individuals 18 years of age and older.
- Projects that require recurring funding.
- Expenses considered to be part of an individual’s typical cost of living.
- Travel expenses – including public transport and petrol.
- Retrospective expenses.
- Incomplete application forms.
- Services or therapies.
