Deadline: 2-Jan-23
The Sheffield Hallam University has announced the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) Innovation Futures Programme, a youth engagement programme designed to introduce young people into the health, wellbeing and technology sectors and help them explore future career pathways.
What will happen on the programme?
- The programme will introduce young people to organisations and people in roles that span across five areas of expertise. These areas contribute towards the development and launch of innovative new health and wellbeing products and services.
-
They are:
- Academia
- Healthcare
- Industry
- Investment
- Intermediary services
- Collaboration between these areas ensures promising ideas can go on to enhance people's lives in areas such as improving treatments or helping people understand their health better so that they can make healthier decisions.
- Several trips will be arranged for the group to different organisations across South Yorkshire. During these trips, participants will see first-hand what it is like to work in and be a part of these environments.
- Contributors from organisations across each area will share their knowledge about the roles they do, the skills required and how they progressed into their current role.
Benefits
- At the end of the programme, participants will have a better understanding of the opportunities available to them and will have established contacts with organisations in their area(s) of interest.
- Tailored support will be provided to each individual, focusing specifically on their desired career pathway, guiding them with next steps and funding opportunities. The group will also be invited to become part of the AWRC community. This might include getting involved in future research projects and finding out about work experience and other opportunities across Sheffield Hallam University and the organisations supporting programme.
