The British Embassy in Caracas is currently seeking expressions of interest from eligible organisations for its Official Development Assistance (ODA) bilateral programme.
The ODA Bilateral Programme is the main channel through which the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom finances projects in Venezuela. These should contribute towards achieving results within strategic objectives identified by the Embassy, which benefit Venezuela.
Objectives
- Increased capacity for local journalists, with particular focus on female journalists, media outlets and workers to operate in a safe and free manner.
- Agreement on a set of proposed public policies aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls; or increased capacity for the private sector, for the implementation of more gender-sensitive corporate policies.
- Strengthened capacities of civil society organisations, especially human rights defenders, to interact with regional and international stakeholders.
- Public debate and agreement achieved on public policies to promote economic stability, including proposals to address poverty.
- Targeted economic-based solutions to support access to water and food security developed.
- Evidence-based policy proposals to tackle services subsidies developed.
- Evidence-based policy proposals to reduce gas flaring developed.
- Improved capacity to strengthen management of gas and electricity industries.
- Improved capacity to strengthen management of economic institutions.
