The British Embassy in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan is currently accepting project proposals for the 2019/2020 financial year (April 2019-March 2020).
This year the British Embassy Nur-Sultan is seeking to support projects that aim to develop children support centres in Kazakhstan in line with the law on amendments to legislative acts, regulating the work of children’s rights organisations, which was signed by President Tokayev in April 2019. One of the important milestones of the law is the establishment of support centres for children in difficult life situations.
Outcomes
In this regard, they are particularly interested in project proposals aiming towards the following outcomes:
- Increased exposure of existing and newly established children support centres to the best international practice on administering and running those centres.
- Strengthened capacity and expertise of staff members of the children support centres with the aim to help them be more effective in protecting children’s rights.
- Strengthened operational framework of the children support centres through development of operating standards, procedures and methodologies in line with the best international practice.
Funding Information
- Maximum budget limit: £40,000.
- Projects are funded for a single financial year running from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020, with no expectation of continued funding beyond this period.
Assessment
Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Alignment with the above mentioned thematic priorities and outcomes
- Outcomes are achievable within the funding period
- Project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures
- Sustainability demonstrating that project benefits continue after the funding ends
- Risk and financial accountability procedures
- The organisation’s safeguarding policies that ensure protection of beneficiaries
- Overall value for money
