The Stop TB Partnership is thrilled to announce a total of 19 million USD to continue its support to civil society and TB-affected community partners to champion ambitious and strong people-centered, human-rights-based, gender-transformative national TB responses through Round 13 of the CFCS mechanism.
A year on from the second UNHLM on TB it is time to increase advocacy efforts and demand the political will and financing required to end TB. Stop TB Partnership’s Challenge Facility for Civil Society Round 13 aims to support organisations of people affected by TB and civil society organisations to reduce barriers to quality TB care and support services to end TB by 2030. This will be achieved by securing political will, reducing the TB financing gap, increasing demand for new tools and approaches, enhancing ambition and accountability, strengthening engagement of key partners and establishing supportive legal and policy environments.
About Challenge Facility for Civil Society
- The Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) is the Stop TB Partnership’s program for TB civil society and communities to end TB by 2030. It is a unique mechanism that provides grants, technical assistance, tools and resources to support TB-affected communities and grassroots civil society organizations to promote and protect human rights and gender equity and end TB stigma and discrimination. The ultimate goal is to champion community leadership to overcome the barriers that prevent access to essential TB care and support services in order to achieve an equitable TB response.
Funding Tracks
- There are two tracks through which eligible organisations can apply for funding:
- Track 1 Country Applications
- Track 1A: for organisations (i.e. TB survivor networks) with up to four years TB / CRG experience
- Track 1B: for organisations with more than four years TB / CRG experience
- Track 2 Global/Regional Applications
- Organisations that work predominantly in and across the targeted countries within a region listed above under Track 1 can be considered for regional applications. Organisations that work in at least three of the eligible regions listed above can be considered for global applications.
- Track 1 Country Applications
Funding Information
- The total available amount for CFCS in 2025 is up to USD 19 million. Stop TB is committed to strengthening national responses and therefore the majority of funding will be awarded under Track 1.
- The following funding ceilings apply:
- Track 1 – Country Applications
- Track 1A: organisations with up to 4 years of TB and CRG experience: up to USD 50,000.
- Track 1B: organisations with more than 4 years of TB and CRG experience: up to USD 100,000.
- Track 2 – Global or Regional Coordination Applications: up to USD 150,000.
- Track 1 – Country Applications
Eligibility Criteria
- Organisations must meet the following four (4) criteria to be eligible for CFCS Round 13
- Legally registered in one of the above-mentioned countries (legal registration certificate to be made available).
- Track 1: Country-level organisations must be registered in the same country where grant activities will be implemented;
- Track 2: Global and regional organisations should be legally registered and/or predominantly work in the targeted countries listed under Track 1;
- Please note: New organisations that are not yet legally registered can collaborate with another that is registered. A legally registered organisation which meets the eligibility criteria, can act as the applicant and can support the legal registration of the new organisation and strengthen its capacity. This is highly recommended for networks of people affected by TB.
- Civil society and/or community-based organisation working in the above-mentioned countries or regions. Organisations/networks of people affected by TB are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Be able to open a bank account in the applicant’s legal name in the country of registration.
- Currently working on TB and/or Community, Rights & Gender (CRG)-related work.
- Legally registered in one of the above-mentioned countries (legal registration certificate to be made available).
