The United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), with the financial support of the European Union, implements the program “Addressing the Impact of the Energy Crisis in the Republic of Moldova”, which aims to contribute to increasing the energy security and resilience of the Republic of Moldova in the face of current and future shocks and to stimulating the energy transition.
UNDP Moldova invites independent media institutions to sign up for the program grants for energy efficiency content creation.
Purpose
- The purpose of the grant program is to facilitate the information of the general public in the Republic of Moldova regarding national policies in the field of energy security, energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as their impact on the climate and the environment. Also, the program intends to promote the knowledge among the population of European legislation in the field of energy and climate, which has been or will be transposed into national legislation and will have a beneficial impact on domestic consumers and local companies.
- The overall objective of this grant program is to ensure the sustainability of independent media and to help media outlets continue to produce content so that the public can access quality, fact-based information.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant program budget is $100,000. Exact grant amounts will be determined based on each media institution’s immediate needs and proposed deliverables.
- The program aims to select 5 media projects with a maximum budget of up to USD 20,000 each.
Duration
- The proposals are expected to start from October 2023 and be implemented for a period of 3 months.
- The implementation of the Partnership Agreement to be signed under this CFP is expected to be completed no later than end January 15, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be considered eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- It is an organization registered in Moldova;
- Has more than 3 years of activity;
- Has an independent editorial policy (as evidenced by external evaluations/evaluation reports, where possible);
- Demonstrates commitment to professional and ethical journalism (as evidenced by media monitoring reports where possible);
- Video, audio, graphic and text media products are eligible. Innovative approaches, graphical visualization of data to explain energy and climate policies are encouraged.
