The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a program entitled “EU-China Cooperation on Wildlife Protection” in order to contribute to the implementation of EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking by supporting the action of China in this field.
The objectives of this call for proposals are to support China-EU efforts in tackling wildlife trafficking by undertaking a targeted awareness raising or communication activity to address one of the key gaps to raise awareness and knowledge in particular amongst Chinese actors in a position to reduce trafficking and potential consumers of illegal wildlife products or endangered species.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall EUR 1,150,000.00.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person; and
- be non-profit-making; and
- be a civil society entity, local or international Non-Governmental Organisations engaged in wildlife protection, and have established cooperation arrangements with State Forestry Administration of China (SFA) and
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in an eligible country according to “Regulation (EU) No. 236/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2014 laying down common rules and procedures for the implementation of the Union’s instruments for financing external action” (Entities established in China can participate as co-applicants only); and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant must act with at least one co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter. Each consortium shall include a minimum of 2 members (1 leader + 1 co-applicant).
- If awarded the grant contract, the lead applicant will become the beneficiary identified as the Coordinator. The Coordinator is the main interlocutor of the Contracting Authority. It represents and acts on behalf of any other co-beneficiary (if any) and coordinate the design and implementation of the action.
