The Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Department of the Embassy of France to Uganda is launching a program to fund innovative projects by civil societies and coalitions of actors (FSPi PISCCA).
Objectives
- The PISCCA Fund “For an Intergenerational and Creative Ugandan Feminist Movement” aims to support Ugandan feminist organizations in implementing concrete actions as a follow-up to the Generation Equality Forum. It also aims to strengthen intergenerational links between feminist organizations by promoting the development of coalitions of actors, capacity building and peer learning.
Sectors
Micro-project sectors (one to choose from):
- gender and climate change;
- sexual and reproductive health and rights;
- gender-based violence.
Funding information
- With a budget of 500,000 Euros over 2 years this project will fund the establishment of coalitions of actors and innovative micro-projects implemented by Ugandan civil society organizations (CSOs). Grant requests must be strictly for 30,000 Euros or 60,000 Euros depending on the application facility.
- Duration: 18 months
- Location: Any location in Uganda, rural or urban.
Target Association
- Feminist youth associations (under 30 years old);
- with more than one year but less than 5 years of legal existence;
- annual budget of less than 100,000 Euros;
- work on emerging issues or from a new angle, including reflection on masculinities, transformative and Afro-centric approaches;
- strong capacity to mobilize youth and traditionally disenfranchised audiences;
- good use of social media and innovativeActon methods.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, the organization must meet the following requirements:
- Be legally constituted for at least five (5) years (before March 25, 2017) and registered with the NGO Bureau;
- abets to the organization’seffectiveactives (activity reports for the last year)
- Demonstrate sufficient budgetary capacity to carry out the proposed project (financial reports forthe last year, validated by the Board of Directors -see below);
- Be in line with one of the themes of the PISCCA 2022 presented above;
- Provide co-financing of at least 10% of the total project budget.
Ineligible Initiatives
The following initiatives will be automatically ineligible:
- Prestige or opportunity operations with no economic, social or cultural purpose;
- Humanitarian and emergency actions that can be funded through other financial instruments;
- Real estate purchases and building construction projects (school, health center, etc.);
- The operation or equipment of administrative services, associations or private works, when the financing of these operations is not part of a real development project (rent, purchase or repair of vehicles, salaries, charges, electricity, etc).
