The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Albania has announced a procedure for acceptance and selection of project proposals to be implemented with grants within the official development assistance of the Republic of Bulgaria 2023.
Objectives
- Strengthening the rule of law
- Environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources
- Building administrative capacity for local self-government and supporting democratic reforms
- Protection of human rights and respect for the rights of minorities
- Improving the quality of education and improving school infrastructure
Priorities
The priority areas and directions for implementation of projects on the territory of the Republic of Albania are:
- Protection and guarantee of human rights with special attention to children, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, including national minorities
- Sustainable management of natural resources, nature protection and mitigation of climate change
- Providing inclusive and quality education and improving school infrastructure
Funding Infromation
- The minimum allowable value of a project is BGN 5,000.
- The co-financing of project activities provided by the applicant will be considered as an advantage in the evaluation, selection and approval of projects.
Outcomes: Improving socio-economic development and good governance in the Republic of Albania;
Activities that can be funded
- Activities contributing to the strengthening of public institutions in the Republic of Albania, responsible for the development and implementation of national policies in priority areas and aimed at helping to increase their transparency, accountability and efficiency and contributing to strengthening the development of civil society and increasing contribution on social justice, democracy and sustainable development, for example:
- Development of new / updating existing training modules
- Organizing and conducting trainings (including trainings on specific topics in Bulgarian institutions for exchange of good practices) for raising the qualification of the employees of the administration of the Republic of Albania
- Development of research and strategies
- Awareness raising activities for citizens’ rights
- Activities to and limit racism, xenophobia, hate speech, discrimination and intolerance in society
- Activities related to improving the quality of infrastructure in the respective field and increasing the potential of the sites through supply of equipment and materials, construction works, restoration, renewal, rehabilitation, measures for preservation and improvement of adjacent buildings and infrastructure, public buildings and other objects, for example:
- Delivery of equipment and materials intended for state or municipal property – schools, hospitals, kindergartens, nursing homes, etc.
- Construction work to improve state or municipal property – schools, hospitals, kindergartens, nursing homes, etc.
- Support for the development of municipalities for European cohesion
- Sharing good practices in the field of sustainable management of natural resources, use of renewable energy sources, environmental protection, awareness of the consequences of climate change and combating them
