The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria has announced a call for proposals for pilot projects to be implemented in the territory of the Republic of Namibia and the Republic of Angola with grants under the official development assistance of the Republic of Bulgaria with an initial implementation period in 2023.
Objectives and Scope
- Providing access to modern, quality and inclusive education.
- Addressing the health, economic and social consequences of the pandemic caused by COVID-19;
- Ensuring equal participation of women and girls in economic, social and cultural life;
- Establishing the good name and international prestige of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Priority Areas
The priority areas and directions for the implementation of projects on the territory of Namibia and Angola are:
- Providing quality and inclusive education;
- Support to address the health, economic and social consequences of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
- Promote gender equality and empower women.
Funding Information
- The minimum allowable value of a project is BGN 5,000.
- The recommended maximum value of a project is up to BGN 15,000;
Eligible Activities
The project implementation costs must meet the following conditions at the same time:
- To be lawful and comply with the principles of accountability, economy, efficiency, effectiveness and transparency;
- Be made against the necessary supporting documents – invoices or other documents with equivalent probative value;
- Be within the value of the project;
- Not be funded by another project, program or any other financial scheme stemming from the national budget, the EU budget or another donor.
Mandatory activities to be provided in the project:
- Preparation of an audit report by an independent financial auditor;
- Activities for ensuring publicity and visibility of the provided financial assistance, according to the Guidelines for publicity and visibility of the Bulgarian development aid, in the amount of from 3 to 5% of the total value of the project, but not more than 5 thousand raises.
Target groups
- Pupils and students, doctoral students and lecturers in various educational institutions;
- Representatives of various social and minority groups, vulnerable categories of persons (children with disabilities, migrants, the elderly);
- Young women entrepreneurs with ambition to create or develop their own business;
- Representatives of the civil sector and non-governmental organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Primary and secondary budget managers – legal entities of Namibia or Angola;
- International and local nongovernmental organizations;
- Municipalities and their associations;
- Educational, health and social institutions;
- International humanitarian organizations;
- Others (depending on the specifics of the country).
