EUROPE DIRECT Points constantly and actively communicate with citizens in order to contribute to increasing the sense of ownership of the European project.
Information and citizen involvement activities carried out by EUROPE DIRECT points enable citizens to make informed decisions about the future of the EU by ensuring their full participation in the European democratic process.
By disseminating knowledge about how the EU works and its system of parliamentary democracy and about issues for which the EU has a responsibility, EUROPE DIRECT points help raise citizens’ awareness of the benefits of their country’s membership of the EU in their everyday life and emphasize their added value.
EUROPE DIRECT points help to identify those aspects related to EU policies that are relevant at local level and can help develop messages and actions tailored to local needs. The communication and citizen involvement activities carried out by EUROPE DIRECT points contribute to paving the way for the strategic political priorities of the Commission and Parliament.
