UN Women has launched the call for proposals to Work on women’s political participation and women, peace and security in Lebanon.
Areas of Work
UN Women Lebanon Office welcomes proposals for partnerships to achieve results under the following areas of work:
- Women’s Economic Empowerment and Protection from Gender Based Violence through the provision of skills training, access to income generation as well as protection services
- Outcome 1.1: National authorities, private sector and CSOs are engaged in and actively support gender equality and women’s economic empowerment and protection
- Skills training and education support is provided for women (Lebanese and refugees) to enhance employability and empowerment in fields related to construction, period poverty and food insecurity.
- Women are supported to access income generation and employment opportunities – Lebanese and refugees in fields related to menstrual hygiene, food production and construction.
- Women and girls seeking employment are supported with essential protection services
- Outcome 1.1: National authorities, private sector and CSOs are engaged in and actively support gender equality and women’s economic empowerment and protection
- Women’s Political Participation to support to women’s political and civil leadership
- Outcome 3: More women across political and civic spaces participate in decision-making spaces in Lebanon
- Output 3.1: Support women in politics to succeed
- Output 3.2 Emerging female leaders across civic spaces (including universities and syndicates) are better able to occupy positions of leadership within their sectors, including in elected bodies
- Output 3.3: Social Media users are less likely to engage in cyber-bullying of elected leaders and aspiring candidates
- Outcome 3: More women across political and civic spaces participate in decision-making spaces in Lebanon
- Women, Peace and Security, especially to support community dialogue and peacebuilding, and work to prevent violence against women and promote accountability
- Outcome 2: The Women, Peace and Security Agenda is implemented through an enabling environment that supports women’s participation in conflict prevention
- Local women peacebuilders are supported to prevent conflict
- Prevent violence against women and support accountability to women’s rights through the justice chain.
- Outcome 2: The Women, Peace and Security Agenda is implemented through an enabling environment that supports women’s participation in conflict prevention
- Social Norms work through the identification of specific contextual causes of gender discrimination and implement strategies to address these
- Output 4.1: Negative social norms are tackled to promote greater acceptance for gender equality in Lebanon.
Funding Information
The budget range for this call for proposals varies by component and can range from 50,000 USD to 400,000 USD. Proposals should be in USD.
Competencies
- Technical/functional competencies required;
- Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services
- In the selection of partners, the following competencies will be considered:
- Soundness of technical competency described in the approach to the outcome/outputs as described in the Terms of Reference for the Call for Proposals.
- Organisations with a track record of working on women’s rights and gender equality and delivering results for women’s rights in Lebanon.
- Capacity to deliver expected results: governance and management competency, and financial and administrative competency.
