The European Commission, through its Representation in Estonia, has launched a call for proposals with the aim of selecting partners for the implementation of EUROPE DIRECT activities in the period 2021–2025.
The EUROPE DIRECT contact points communicate proactively and continuously with citizens in order to increase their shared responsibility for the European project. By organizing information and involvement activities, also it gives citizens the opportunity to make informed choices about the future of the EU and to participate fully in the European democratic process.
By helping citizens to better understand the functioning of the EU and its parliamentary democracy, and its responsibilities, EUROPE DIRECT Contact Points raise citizens’ awareness of the benefits of the EU in their daily lives while highlighting the EU’s added value.
It helps to identify important aspects of EU policies at the local level and to convey messages and implement actions based on local needs. Through information and citizen involvement activities, the EUROPE DIRECT Contact Pointshelp to prepare the strategic policy priorities of the Commission and the European Parliament.
Moreover, it also gives citizens the opportunity to express their expectations and provide feedback to the EU institutions.
The EUROPE DIRECT contact points work closely with the Commission’s Representations and the European Parliament’s offices in the Member States concerned. They also cooperate with other information networks and contact points at EU or local level and promote the exchange of information and coordination.
Funding Information
- To co-finance projects under this call for proposals is the first year of implementation(2021) provides for a total budget of EUR 211 200.
- 2022-2025. The amount of support is EUR 34,200.
Five main tasks
- Task 1. Information and citizen involvement
- Task 2. Relations with local media and other disseminators
- Task 3. Awareness of EU sensitive issues at the local level
- Task 4. In EU schools
- Task 5. Promoting a regional network
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications may be submitted by any of the following applicants:
- a public body, such as a municipality or other level local/regional authority, or
- association/association of local authorities, non-profit association, social partner, or a training institution
- a private institution that provides a public service 19
- Natural persons are not eligible for funding
Requirements
- All EUROPE DIRECT must have:
- recognizable premises (hereinafter referred to as the ” EUROPE DIRECT site”) which:
- must be installed on the front of the building at street level with a plaque 13 to which EUROPE must be presented as close as possible DIRECT opening hours and / or reception hours and contact telephone number;
- a separate telephone line and e-mail address;
- presence on the Internet
- recognizable premises (hereinafter referred to as the ” EUROPE DIRECT site”) which:
- All EUROPE DIRECT contact points must:
- support the organization of the Commission Representation and the Bureau of the European Parliament communication and involvement activities, including the uheskoos.eu community development;
- respond to individual requests for meetings;
- answer questions or refer people to relevant EU networks or the Europe Direct Contact Center
- communicate with the public through social media disseminate EU publications/information/videos/messages;
- use a satisfaction survey to evaluate the performance of EUROPE DIRECT an instrument made available by the Commission;
- submit monthly reports (in English) on the activities of EUROPE DIRECT through an online reporting tool made available by the Commission
