The United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH) announces the first public call for civil society organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina within the project “Improving the capacity of law enforcement agencies in the field of small arms and light weapons” (eng. Law Enforcement Agencies’ Development in Small Arms and Light Weapon’s Control – LEAD) financed by the Multilateral Partnership Fund, which consists of donors from the governments of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Republic of France, and the Kingdom of Norway with the support of the European Union.

The aim of this call is to involve civil society organizations and develop partnerships with competent institutions in BiH with the aim of joint work on the problem of small arms and light weapons (SALW) in illegal possession, responsible ownership of legal weapons and the negative effects of illegal and legal weapons on society, family and especially risk groups, such as young people, women and children.

The LEAD project  aims to strengthen the capacity and engagement of the relevant competent institutions and civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), as well as to strengthen inter-agency and cross-border cooperation for the implementation of the Strategy for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons in BiH and the Roadmap for a Sustainable Solution to Suppression illegal possession, misuse and trafficking of small arms and light weapons, firearms and related ammunition in the Western Balkans until 2024.
