CHAU Uganda SRHR Umbrella Program: Seeking Applications from Ugandan CBOs

Call for Proposals 2021: Support for Enterprise Development

Community Health Alliance Uganda (CHAU) working with International HIV/AIDS Alliance (IHAA) in Brighton UK through a grant from the Swedish Embassy in Uganda is seeking applications to fund Ugandan CBOs to design and implement a four year (July 2017-2021) comprehensive integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV services program (hereafter referred as the Uganda SRHR Umbrella program) with an aim to contribute to improved SRHR and HIV outcomes.

The SRHR Umbrella Program is designed to respond to the SRHR and HIV needs of vulnerable populations in Uganda with unmet SRHR and HIV needs with a priority on children aged 10 to 14, adolescents aged 15-19 years, and young men and women aged 20-24; and key populations (MSM, SWs, truckers and fishing communities).

Through the Uganda SRHR Umbrella Program, CBOs will be supported to work closely with community structures to foster a community driven response towards increased demand for and access to sexual reproductive health and rights services including Family Planning, screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), HIV testing services (HTS), and linkages to HIV treatment, care and support services.

To this end, CHAU seeks applications from capable district based CBOs to implement interventions targeting the following four outcomes;

SRHR umbrella program intends to award a maximum of 14 awards to district based CBOs to approximately of 560 million UGX per CBO for 4 years.

Priority will be given to promoting the full sexual and reproductive rights of individuals and to addressing stigma and discrimination in all its complexity, imperative for removing barriers to accessing health services. This will be done through:
