The City of Bunbury is seeking applications for the 2020-2021 Events Grant Program.
Events within the City of Bunbury play an important role in the cultural fabric of the community and provide significant cultural, economic branding and social benefit.
They act to bring people together and foster a shared sense of place for the region, celebrating the diversity of people, place and experiences.
Funding Information
- Minor Events
- Up to $15,000 available and a maximum of 50% of the total activity budget for an incorporated not-forprofit organisation, business or individual auspiced by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation.
- Events run by and for the local community which draw visitors from the Bunbury Geographe region. It is expected that these events generate local and potentially regional media coverage. These events enrich the understanding and enjoyment of life, celebrate the identity and bring the community together.
- Major Events
- Up to $40,000 available and a maximum of 50% of the total activity budget for an incorporated not-forprofit organisation, business or individual auspiced by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation.
- Events that bring additional tourism to and promote Bunbury and provide significant economic benefits. It is expected that at a minimum, these events generate regional and State coverage and draw visitation from outside the Bunbury Geographe region. These events contribute to Bunbury’s thriving and dynamic economy and reputation as a place to live visit and do business.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to receive a community grant from the City, the applicant must:
- Be a business, incorporated not-for-profit organisation or an individual auspiced by an incorporated not-for- profit organisation.
- Demonstrate that the City’s allocation will be matched financially or in-kind with business applicants required to demonstrate matched funding as a cash component and/or individuals auspiced by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation able to demonstrate matched funded as a cash or in-kind contribution. In-kind services must be calculated at $25/hour and these make up no more than 25% of the total matched funding.
- Submit an application through the City’s grant management portal, Smartygrants – bunbury.
- Have all appropriate insurance and licences relevant to their work
- Carry out the activity (or significant portion) within the City of Bunbury boundaries by 31 August 2021
