The Community Equity Collaborative and the San Mateo Credit Union in partnership with the SMC Board of Supervisors and the SMC COVID-19 Child Care Response Team, is seeking applications for its Child Care Relief Fund program.
The program will prioritize child care programs that serve the most vulnerable San Mateo County residents, demonstrate fiscal sustainability, and participate in existing county initiatives such as The Big Lift and Quality Counts.
Funding Information
- This program distributes $2M of San Mateo County’s CARES Act funds to child care programs that have been adversely impacted by COVID-19.
- Grants will cover the equivalent of one month of operating expenses up to $ 10,000 for family child care homes and @ 55,000 for child care centers.
Eligibility Criteria
- This grant program is limited to licensed child care centers and family child care homes as well as license-exempt public recreation and school-district operated programs in the county that have been adversely impacted by COVID-19.
- Programs that received grants from the San Mateo County Strong Fund are eligible for the Child Care Relief Fund Grant. However, the amount of any Child Care Relief Fund grant awarded will be reduced by the amount previously received from the SMC Strong Fund.
- Multi-site agencies are eligible for one grant.
