The Delaware County Foundation has launched the 2020 Community Grants Prgoram.
Covid-19 presents a challenge of unprecedented complexity and duration for nonprofit organizations. Many are challenged with increased demand for their services, increased costs, and lost revenue due to closures and cancellations.
To better serve the nonprofit partners, and to ensure their continued viability, the Foundation is streamlining its Community Grant process and accelerating the grant timeline. They further recognize that operating support will be required for organizations to respond and recover from the COVID-19 crisis.
In the past the Foundation provided no funding for employee salaries. This year, the Foundation will consider applications with administrative expenses not to exceed 20% of the total funding request.
Funding Information
Grants are expected to range between $2,500 to $15,000 and will be funded in three waves as funding is made available.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit organizations and government entities with projects that benefit Delaware County Ohio residents are eligible to apply.
- Grants are not made to individuals.
- Organizations that either (a) have established their tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are not “private foundations” as defined under section 509(a) of the Code; or (b) have tax exemption as a governmental or other publicly-funded entity; or (c) have a qualified, tax-exempt fiscal sponsor.
- All organizations and programs aligned with the Foundation’s funding priorities and addressing identified community needs are invited to apply.
- Priority will be given to nonprofit organizations that are specifically addressing:
- In the past, Foundation funding focused solely on capital & programmatic expenses. Administrative expenses not to exceed 20% of the total funding request will be accepted this year.
Exclusions
- Activities that are non-secular or promote a religious doctrine
- Academic or medical research
- Annual fundraising campaigns or events
- Creation of, or addition to, endowment funds
- Payment of debt or legal settlements
- Political or partisan purposes
